From the Desk of our Chairperson...

Dear Sponsor

On behalf of the Juneteenth Committee, we are very appreciative and grateful for your support in our community’s observance of the historic Juneteenth national holiday. Now in its 28th year, the Daytona Beach Juneteenth Festival stands as the largest and longest-running event of its kind within the state of Florida. The Juneteenth Festival Committee, Inc., a non-profit organization, welcomes the opportunity to partner with your business in commemorating the fifth year of Juneteenth National Holiday Community Celebration events, which will include the:

Juneteenth Family Festival - Saturday, June 13, 2026
Juneteenth Hometown Hero Banquet - Friday, June 19, 2026.

We recognize the long history of perseverance, dedication, and hope that has led to this era of progress and opportunity. Leaders from various backgrounds—including abolitionists, educators, civil rights advocates, legal professionals, public servants, and engaged citizens—have played a vital role in furthering the principles set forth in our founding documents. Juneteenth both honors these achievements and encourages continued efforts toward equality and justice.

As we plan for the 2026 Juneteenth National Holiday Community Celebration events, we look forward to once again honoring our Hometown Heroes during our annual banquet. Each year, deserving citizens are carefully selected and recognized for the sacrifice, compassion, and commitment they make every day to our children, our seniors, and our community. This year’s banquet returns to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and will feature invigorating entertainment from the Junkanoo Dancers and Stilt walkers.

This year’s Juneteenth Family Festival will once again showcase the historic Sankofa Traveling Museum. On display are more than 500 artifacts that document African American life dating back to the 1800’s. This free, all-day community event will also include live musical performances, African-inspired dance presentations, an assortment of food trucks and refreshment vendors, booths featuring festival sponsors and merchandise from small businesses, children’s games (such as pony rides and a petting zoo), in addition to interactive and educational activities, and a Pound Cake Contest. In addition, proceeds from both events will go toward college scholarships in support of students from area high schools.

We are looking forward to working together with other community leaders to provide this educational experience and family entertainment in Daytona Beach’s Midtown Redevelopment Area. We are ever grateful for the sponsors who have committed their support to these community events in the past, to include: The City of Daytona Beach, The City Manager’s Office, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Foundation Risk Partners, Hunt House, Brown & Brown, NASCAR, VyStar Credit Union, Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, Daytona Beach Police Department, Mid-Florida Housing Partnership, Inc., and Our Lady of Lourdes to name a few.

We believe that the 28th Annual Daytona Beach Juneteenth Celebration is an excellent way for your business, City of Daytona Beach, to continue to demonstrate its deep commitment to our community, as well as showcase its many excellent services. Your sponsorship would be most appreciated and will greatly contribute to the success of the upcoming Juneteenth Family Banquet and Festival, and allow us to provide more services to the community.

Thank you in advance for your consideration and interest in this important community
event. Should you have any questions, please contact us.

Sincerely,

Linda McGee
